'Star Wars: Episode VII' Is Already In Production With Casting Almost Complete

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Disney chairman Alan Horn revealed that production is already under way on Star Wars: Episode VII, which was believed to begin shooting next month at Pinewood Studios in London. Here's what the Disney executive had to say in an interview at Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television in Los Angeles.

"We're actually shooting some of it now. We're up against it."

It isn't known exactly where shooting is taking place. While no cast members have been confirmed yet, the executive revealed that some of the actors have already signed on, although casting is still ongoing.

"We have a lot of them [in place]. We're just not completely done yet."

The story will take place 35 years after Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, and he also revealed that the screenplay, written by director J.J. Abrams andLawrence Kasdan, is finally in the right place to move forward with production.

"It actually is now. It's all about the screenplay. It has to be screenplay, screenplay, screenplay."

It's only a matter of time before casting is confirmed for Star Wars: Episode VII, so stay tuned.

Star Wars: Episode VII comes to theaters December 18th, 2015 and stars Harrison FordMark HamillCarrie FisherBilly Dee WilliamsAnthony Daniels. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.
