2012 was the year of Channing Tatum, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Liam Neeson.

We said goodbye to a vampire clan and a bat dressed in black, and three films brought in more than a billion dollars each (The Avengers, TDKR, and Bond).

While its uncertain whether 2013 will bring another billion dollar movie, there are contenders from Disney and Lionsgate hoping to hit that mark with a trip to Oz and a girl on fire.

What other films should you look forward to in the next 12 months?

We've sifted through all of the movies coming out in 2013 and have chosen the most-anticipated films of the year.

Whether you're a horror nut, a superhero fiend, looking for a few laughs, or are a serious film aficionado, there's something here for everyone.

"Gangster Squad"

Release Date: January 11

Why to see it:

Josh Brolin, Sean Penn, and Ryan Gosling as gangsters.

After the shooting in Aurora, Colorado at a screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" in July Warner Bros. postponed the film until the new year. It then underwent a reshoot due to the controversial shoot up of a theater at the movie's end. It's unsure how a re-edit affected the final outcome, but the film was highly anticipated before its push back to January. 

Plus, it will be the first time we see Emma Stone and Gosling reunite onscreen since "Crazy, Stupid, Love."

"A Good Day To Die Hard"

Release Date: February 14

Why to see it:

We don't care if its the fifth film in the "Die Hard" franchise. If Bruce Willis is in it taking down helicopters and bad guys, we're sold.

Also, if men are looking for a perfect film to bring the girlfriend to for Valentine's Day, you're going to want to see the "007 of South Plainfield."

"Oz: The Great and Powerful"

Release Date: March 8

Why to see it:

James Franco's Oscar host privileges may be revoked; however, there's no denying the actor's talents lighting up both the big screen and the small

With the winning combination of Sam Raimi - the mind behind the original Spider-Man trilogy –  and the production designer from "Alice in Wonderland," Disney hopes for Oz to follow in the footsteps of its billion dollar film
