It's a battle at the box office for the competing Steve Jobs films.

One, based on the Walter Isaacson biography, is currently being penned by "Newsroom" creator Aaron Sorkin, while the other, smaller budget film "jOBS," starring Ashton Kutcher, will soon make its worldwide debut January 27 during the final night of the Sundance Film Festival.

Just yesterday it was announced that Open Road Films had acquired the Kutcher flick after a bidding war and will be responsible for the film's marketing and distribution.

The feature-length "jOBS," which has been shooting the past few months in California, will open in theaters nationwide in April.

Written by Matthew Whitely and directed by Joshua Michael Stern, "jOBS" focuses on the Apple co-founder's life from 1971 through 2000.

"jOBS is certain to resonate with audiences, and we are thrilled to partner with Five Star Feature Films to bring this film to theaters," said Open Road CEO Tom Ortenberg.

The film also stars Dermot Mulroney, Josh Gad, Lukas Haas, J.K. Simmons and Matthew Modine.
